Last

As I sat alone, thinking, I thought of something that I found... mind boggling.
What would it be like to experience your last breath? What would it be like to know it was your last?
If I knew that it would be my last breath...
I would breathe in slowly and try to memorize every feeling and emotion that occur from breathing in. I would not want to forget what it was like to take my last inhale of air. I would pause between inhaling and exhaling to think about all the wonderful things that breathing allowed me to experience. Then, slowly and carefully, I would take my last exhale.

First

To see a letter I wrote last year to my husband visit HERE.

{an excerpt from the journal of Maddiey}

"Dear Husband,
If you ever get your hands on these journals, I hope you laugh. Laugh with me and cry with me. If you find a thousand names of men... let's just say I love men- I am a teenager, what do you expect?
But you are the man I love the most. I will always love you. We will live our life together... We will cry together, laugh together. We will hold hands. We will love each other way past the end of forever."

Dear Hubby,
Not much has changed.
I still love you.
I have an explanation for all the guys in my journals: I fall for all of those guys, hoping that one day one of those guys will be you. I will always love you more than all of my silly crushes. I am itching to meet you. I can't wait for our first. First conversation. First date. First kiss. First day of forever.

be a gentleman
sing (even if you stink)
smile constantly
stay true

Lahve forever and always,
Madison (your wife)

A Dream of Glowing People

What if we all glowed? No, not the Mormon glow. That's real stuff (I think.) I'm talking about the fake stuff. The kind of stuff that I wish was real, but sadly it isn't.
I had a dream last night, a very odd dream. I had a dream where thousands of people gathered in a government building of some sort. It was a very beautiful building with large columns surrounding the entire exterior. You may think that this building sounds normal based on this much of my description. But it wasn't normal. It was a translucent building. You could see the outlines of the people, holding flashlights. They were protesting against... something... odd...The next thing I knew, they had all swallowed their flashlights. If that's not odd enough, they all started floating.
I don't know why I just told you that. It's fine.
I secretly have a wish to glow. It's not a secret anymore. It's fine. Don't worry, I won't go and swallow a flashlight! That would be odd. And painful. I wish I would glow every time I became extremely happy. Oh what a beautiful image! A glowing girl with permagrin. (Sad news! I was recently informed that permagrin isn't a real word! I think I'm going to cry. No matter, it is a real word in my dictionary. It's fine.)

Don't swallow your flashlight.
Lahve always,
Maddiey

Reason why Books are so Important

'Do you know why books such as this are so important? Because they have quality. And what does the word quality mean? To me it means texture. This book has pores. It has features. This book can go under the microscope. You'd find life under the glass, screaming past in infinite profusion. The more pores, the more truthfully recorded details of life per square inch you are. That's my definition, anyway.  Telling detail. Fresh detail. The good writers touch life often. The mediocre ones run a quick hand over her. The bad ones rape her and leave her for the flies.

'So now do you see why books are hated and feared? They show the pores in the face of life. The comfortable people want only wax moon faces, poreless, hairless, expressionless. We are living in a time when flowers are trying to live on flowers, instead of growing on good rain and black loam. Even fireworks, for all their prettiness, come from the chemistry of the earth. Yet somehow we think we can grow, feeding on flowers and fireworks, without completing the cycle back to reality. Do you know the legend of Hercules and Antaeus, the giant wrestler, whose strength was incredible so long as he stood firmly on earth? But when he was held rootless, in midair, by Hercules, he perished easily. If there isn't something in that legend for us today, in this city, in our time, then I am completely insane... Well, there we have the first thing I said we need. Quality texture of information.'

Amen to Ray Bradbury. To get the other two reasons why books are so important, see Fahrenheit 451 pg. 83-85. I would put them here but that would make this post a novel.

Read a book.
Lahve always,
Maddiey

random thoughts from today.

-Grandma is well. She didn't have her surgery, but it was for the better.
-My cold is starting to disappear and I can breathe again. I already had a deep appreciation for breathing through the nose, but after not being able to for a while, I truly appreciate it. You could say my life is going pretty good. At least that's how it right now. I can breathe.
-My mom and dad are going through old photographs. I have a slight obsession with them. I especially adore my Grandparent's (Davis) wedding picture.
- I have recently considered becoming a book editor. I wonder if I could handle such a career... It would be heaven for a person, such as myself, who loves to read! Yep, it's in consideration.

A WORD OF ADVICE: Do not try to speak French while you have a mouthful of toothpaste...  or maybe just don't say anything with a mouthful of toothpaste....

15 Random Things About Me

Thank you Dani Bee Bum ;)

1. Every morning, I wake up and read the newspaper to see which famous people have a birthday that day.
1a. I looked at today's paper hoping to see Justin Bieber's name there (because it is his birthday today, duh). I was disappointed that they only listed old people all over the age of sixty. I was fuming, but now I'm over it.

2.  I seem to only think through the things in life that don't matter that much. It's fine.

3. I like to observe peoples smiles and think that they show a great deal about a persons personality.

4. I find rain storms very therapeutic.

5. I cry when I watch romance movies.
5a. My reason for crying, you ask? Eh, why not? They're too beautiful not to cry tears of happiness.

6. Laughter is my favorite sound.

7. I have an obsession with super heros. It's the greatest.

8. I have a strong and barely controllable emotion (akhay passion) for photography.

9. I can't stand dry hands/ dry skin. Ew!
9a. If you haven't put lotion on today and you are reading this, do me a favor please. Go put lotion on.

10. I live for the heat of 90 degree weather.

11. I like to concentrate on breathing.

12. My favorite color has been/ always will be purple.
12a. It's not on purpose, just a coincidence that Justin Bieber's 'color' is Purple.
12b. I think I might start up the Purple Club again. Mainly just for my own amusement.

13. I love to see any type of writing titled as 'Untitled'

14. I am an avid reader of romances.
14a. I try to read normal people books but that never lasts long. I have been at this normal person book for over a year now. It's fine.

15. Frankly, I miss the use of Cassette Tapes and VHS. They were (and still are) beautiful.

Tag, you're it... eh, Dani, you took my tags... Well, anyone who stalks me on my blog (that's not a bad thing, you know):
Consider yourself Tagged.
